xxxHomeless on the ridge

STILL RAINING!

Mostly on and off drizzle but enough to keep us off the goose. So another day trucking it.

Today is Sunday so we attended a really nice cute Methodist church here in Greenville.

Church was nice, everyone was very welcoming and the sermon was good.

There was some sort of artsy-farstsy festival in the nearby town of Waynesboro that Saint wanted to attend. What ever the Saint wants …

I plotted us a long round about way to get there via the Blue Ridge Parkway. I was hoping to do this route in the Goose, but weather was not cooperating.

First we headed to a town called “Steel’s Tavern”. A town with a name like that had to be pretty cool, right? Steel’s Tavern was a dumpy little town and I could not even find a tavern.

From Steels Tavern we headed east though a curvy road that ascended high into the mountains.

After a while we connected onto Blue Ridge Parkway and we headed north.

Lots of fog and visibility is hampered, but OK

.

After a while the visibility is lessened as we drive through clouds.

We stop at an observation spot that boast of being able to view Fork Mountain.

We can’t see 10 feet, much less able to see Fork Mountain.

Colors are nice but muted because of the fog. The setting of the beautiful colors in the mist of the cloud was still very picturesque regardless.

.

At another observation area, we learned of the 20 minute cliff
