xxxHomeless on the ridge (Oct 18)

This morning is was cold and very windy, so back to trucking. Besides, poor hunter got left all by himself yesterday and if we take the truck, he gets to come too.

Today we headed to the town of Raphine for the annual Apple Butter Festival at Wade’s Mill.

Wade’s mill has been in operation since the 1800s and is still in use making stone ground flours and grains.

It’s an Apple Butter Festival so of course there is apple butter being made

And there was live bluegrass music

After the festival, we found this cute farm/winery.

There were ripe vines along the road.

Still a little tart

An of course, we bought a bottle of wine to “take home as gifts”. Ha, if my sons see one bottle of this collection, it will be a miracle.

To be continued …
